WRITING GOAL UPDATE: SCORE!
"Bar After Bar," a flash fiction piece I wrote a couple years ago for a Writer's Digest prompt (remember voting in their contest???) has been accepted! at a funky, edgy and experimental online literary journal called Drunken Boat. The ezine was named for the 100-line verse-poem written by Arthur Rimbaud in 1871.
The publication has up until recently been a yearly publication, but they're switching over to a twice-yearly publication. I'm not sure whether my story will run in the mid-summer or mid-winter issue this year, but I'm promised it will run within a year. Of course, I'll provide the link then.
I'm going to count this as my "March" acceptance goal.
And... no moola this time - just, um, prestige?

Here is some big March congrats for you! "Bar After Bar" is a fabulous piece. I knew it when you read it to me, then couldn't get it out of my head for days.
It's even more exciting because this is prose, so your genre is incredibly varied from "Bike" and "Love and Teeth."

Is there a good translation of Rimbaud's poem? Dark stuff, as I remember.

I just read Rembaud's Drunken Boat. Where in the world did a seventeen year old come up with so many amazing lines? Yikes!
The Drunken Boat was a wise site to want to publish your piece. Sounds like some geniuses run that site so it's obvious they'd surely recognize your work as outstanding.
