Karen, I did find your early March email re:Haydn goes to London. Oops on me.
We did so enjoy the evening. I couldn't tell that it was difficult to sing mostly mid-ranage, not highlighting your upper range which seems to come so easily.
You looked so sweet in your gown (loved the criss/cross straps). You exressed concern and enthusiasm even while singing some difficult themes. I was close to tears myself as you beautifully sang the 'Sweet Mary, weep no more tears for me', Scottish folksong. I know that's not the title but it's certainly the theme line in the piece. I experienced deep pain for Mary as you truly expressed her agony and love.
All four voices 'pianoforte, violin, violin cello, and vocal' were all so extremely difficult to perform
yet you all revealed excellence in your chosen 'instrument'. You all were superb in your fields but also knew how to treat the audience to an unforgetable eve. It wasn't just a nicely performed techincal masterpiece but sincere expression of Haydn's works.
Please, keep in touch re: next performances.
Lovingly,
Janice
Sorry you missed the eve, Anjie.
YOU'D BE SO PROUD OF YOUR DEAR FRIEND, KAREN!!!
She has a 'gig' next Nov./Dec. in the same venue. Hmmm??? I wonder if it fits in with your schedule in around 9/10 months.
Love to you and family
