We had the girls from Aubrey's class, plus her cousins, over for a party. One of the girls, Rebekah (seated front left with her arms in the air) put a bunch of foil tinsel in Aubrey's gift. Yeah, that's always fun -- for the kids.
Rebekah also wrote this sign for Aubrey when the kids were drawing:
It's supposed to read "I Love Horses" so you can imagine how hard we tried not to laugh in front of Rebekah.
The partiers played a version of pictionary, each kid drawing something that the others had to yell out when they recognized it.
Mick decorated the bubble gum ice cream cake with a hand-sculpted Rice Crispies treats dolphin that he then frosted. Indeed, he's way cool.
Karen was here for the week of Aubrey's party and we had so much fun... starting with a little Red Robin birthday bash (okay, 'bash' is an overstatement, but it was fun) the night Karen flew in.

Aubrey,
WE LOVED THIS BLOG ABOUT YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY. WHAT A FUN CELEBRATION.
ALSO, IT WAS SUCH FUN TO HAVE YOU AND DANE HERE WITH US FOR SUCH A SHORT TIME BUT WE SURELY DID FILL THAT TIME WITH VALUABLE ACTIVITIES. ( I forgot sketching a kaleidoscope and the drop down a rectangle at a time toy.)
I'M COMING ALONG QUITE WELL WITH THE KNIT HATS AND COATS.
LOVINGLY,
GRAMMY 'DUMBO'
GREAT POST, Anj! These pictures were great. Tyler and I were laughing so hard at the "I love horses" sign. What a riot!!
Aubrey looks so grown up and beautiful. The "dangle" earrings that she was wearing while opening presents made her look 17...not 7! What a gem. Tell her we wish her the best!
Also, I was browsing through my facebook thing tonight, and I saw that your status had a few days of the flu. What a bummer! Sounds like you really got hit hard with the bug this time. I hope you're 100% again soon. You take care!
OK, "I love hores" was funny when you mentioned it on Facebook. However, seeing the photo is howlingly funny. Tine and I were dying over here. Hope all is well with y'all.
